Shytoshi Kusama, the main programmer of Shiba Inu, has unveiled the long-awaited secret physical item and other news.
Yesterday, a blog post reported that Kusama unveiled a "tangible" piece, called Shibacals: Verified Collectibles.
Shibacals Introduction
The project will be an important way to prove the authenticity of collectibles, using NFC chips to digitally verify physical items.
Kusama explains that Shibacals is all about being true to oneself and having a captivating look, while also having a layer of verification that enhances the idea of owning something of value.
Kusama pointed out that leading firms such as eBay are already verifying physical objects. He then went on to say that Shiba Inu's method of authenticating physical products through NFC chips is distinctive. He concluded by noting that this was a unique approach.
“Our unique approach of digital authentication of physical items through an NFC chip, creation of the items in-house, and blockchain transaction sets us apart and demonstrates just one use-case for Shibarium.”
According to Kusama, the chips are capable of connecting to varied locations, thereby providing numerous opportunities which are perfect for businesses.
“[…] People who sell on ETSY or have their own website for creating products can simply add a Shibacal NFC tag and decide how they want to use this tag for their creations,”
Shiba Inu Builds Partnership with Champion Apparel
Kusama remarked that the Shiba Inu company had formed a collaboration with Champion Apparels to make goods with the SHIB motif.
The Shibacals team are responsible for this ambitious project. Notably, this will be the first time authentication tags and NFC chips are used to verify the authenticity of these products.
The Shiba Inu community has had a desire for quite some time for the U.S. sportswear brand Champion to design some SHIB-themed hoodies. Last year, one of the most popular Shiba Inu influencers SHIB_Head started the campaign. Shortly after, other Shiba Inu aficionados likewise requested Champion to come up with SHIB-themed clothing. Now, finally their hopes have been fulfilled.
The campaign was effective, resulting in Shiba Inu obtaining authorization to produce "Shiba Inu merchandise" on Champion Apparel.
At the same time, Shiba Inu unveiled the initial collection of Shibacal, which are NFC authentication tags with a SHIB-inspired design.
Hewlett Packard has designed tags to be put on the initial edition hoodies.
Shiba Inu is holding a competition - Shibacals Hoodie Contest
Shiba Inu's team has revealed they are hosting a hoodie design competition open to the public. They stated that three designs will be accepted, two of which will be chosen from SHIB_Head and THESHIBLIFE.
The SHIB community on Discord will have the opportunity to participate in the Shiba Inu design contest. Three designs from each category will be chosen and presented to the community for voting. Once all votes have been tallied, the top 12 designs will move on to the next round. The contest is due to conclude on June 28th, 2023.
Shib World Worldpaper
Furthermore, the blog post also presented the Shiba Inu Worldpaper, an extensive guide to the SHIB ecosystem. This paper will offer a thorough overview of all elements concerning Shiba Inu, such as its ecosystem tokens, platforms, products, and services. Moreover, the Worldpaper will elucidate the long-term scheme for Shiba Inu's full decentralization.
